SCSC’s Mass Gas Stability Unit delivers a green alternative to sulfuric acid for mild-acid applications.

Independent testing confirms our CO2 technology delivers a cost-effective, on-demand pH solution for moderate acidification, eliminating sulfuric acid's hazards and environmental impact.”

BERESFORD, NB, CANADA, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Stable Carbonic Solutions Corp. (SCSC) today announced the results of independent stability testing supporting its proprietary Mass Transfer Stability platform, a process that stabilizes carbon dioxide in water at atmospheric pressure without the need for closed pressurized storage or continuous re-dosing. The technology platform is designed to give industrial users a lower-hazard, sulfate-free option for applications that call for mild-to-moderate acidification, reducing reliance on sulfuric acid in cases where its full strength and hazard profile aren't required.

Independent Testing

Testing conducted by RPC (Research Productivity Council), an independent New Brunswick-based science and engineering firm, confirmed that water infused with CO2 using SCSC's proprietary infusing platform reached a pH of approximately 3.7–3.9 and remained below pH 4.2 throughout a 43-day monitoring period in an open storage container.

Over that period, pH rose gradually from 3.90 to 4.10, and conductivity declined from 45 to approximately 21 µS/cm, trends the company attributes to its gas-stabilization mechanism, which it says dramatically slows the rate of CO2 loss compared to traditional carbonic acid. SCSC is continuing longer-duration testing to further characterize the solution's stability curve beyond 43 days.

A Targeted Alternative

Because carbonic acid is a weak, diprotic acid, stabilized CO2 infused water cannot match the acid strength or dosing efficiency of concentrated sulfuric acid and is not intended for high-capacity applications like metal leaching. Instead, SCSC is positioning its multi-gas dissolution technology as a sustainable alternative to sulfuric acid for applications requiring mild pH adjustment and sulfate discharge reduction. Additional applications include:

~ Mine tailings and water pH management (CO2, O2, and O3 applications)
~ Agricultural irrigation water conditioning (CO2 and O2 enrichment)
~ Plant and algae growth enhancement (CO2, O2, H2 delivery)
~ Wastewater neutralization where sulfate loading causes downstream scaling, eutrophication, or odor issues

The process enables CO2 utilization pathways that convert waste or byproduct gas streams into stable industrial reagents for fire mitigation, mining, aquaculture, and agriculture.

Company Statement

"We're not claiming to replace sulfuric acid everywhere it's used and that isn't the goal," said Jeff Yeomans, CEO of Stable Carbonic Solutions Corp. "What we've shown, with independent testing to back it up, is that for the applications that need a modest pH shift, we can offer an option that is both cost effective and on demand, and doesn't introduce sulfate into the environment, and doesn't carry the handling hazards of a strong mineral acid. That's a meaningful option to have in the toolkit, and it's a genuine use for CO2 that would otherwise be a waste stream."

Next Steps

SCSC is working with industrial partners to pilot the technology in tailing ponds, aquaculture, and agricultural settings, and plans to publish extended stability data and reported benefits for each vertical once testing is completed. The company continues to develop its Mass Transfer Stability platform for stabilized CO2, O2, O3, and H2 applications across wastewater, aquaculture, agriculture, and mining remediation markets.

About Stable Carbonic Solutions Corp.

Stable Carbonic Solutions Corp. developed and filed multiple patent applications on a mass gas-transfer platform that stabilizes gases including CO2, O2, O3, and H2 in water at atmospheric conditions, enabling practical industrial use of stabilized carbonic acid, oxygenated water, and hydrogen-enriched water. SCSC partners with sector innovators to build, scale, and commercialize these solutions across industrial water treatment, aquaculture, agriculture, firefighting, and tailing remediation.
